Smart Mushrooms is a UK-based brand offering eco-friendly medicinal mushroom products like Lion's Mane Extract, founded by a young entrepreneur.
PROJECT OVERVIEW

Smart Mushrooms approached Locorum Media in March 2024 with a vision of setting up a full service email retention strategy with premium email design and a sophisticated flow automation and lead generation strategy. Over the course of 3 months, we worked to rebuild their core customer journey, enhance the success of their email campaigns and drive retention through sophisticated A/B testing and segmentation as well as help them drive more sign ups via A/B testing different lead gen strategies.

We ran 3 different tests over the period of 1 month to determine the best strategy.

1 - Simple sign up form with name and email with an offer

2 - Simple sign up form with a question before submitting name and email to collect zero-party-data

3 - Asking 2 question's before the customer enters their details.

The winning pop-up strategy.

We saw strategy 3 perform 2x better than both of the other tested strategies.

With this pop-up we asked the customers an initial question which would make them feel silly saying no to.

We then followed up with another question to see what kind of products they would be interested in. The zero-party-data we collected was then used to personalise the welcome flow for what the customer chose.

The pop-up averaged a 21% form submit rate which has days of a submit rate of up to 28%

This goes to show that giving customers an offer the feel silly saying no to works and the majority of customers are happy to give away data to you which you can use to help personalise your communication touch points, driving more repeat purchases and more conversions.

The winning welcome flow formula.
Utilising zero-party-data.

When building out the welcome flow we wanted to make sure we were utilising the zero-party-data collected by the pop-up to really personalise the communication with the customer.

I bet your asking did this increase conversion rates most importantly - Yes, yes it did we saw a +155.71% increase in placed order rate once we implemented this.

Not only did placed order rate increase but we saw open rates increase by +49.89% and clicks rates increase by +120.56%.
